Description
Old wine barrel with the words Site of California's Oldest Winery. The barrel itself is located on Route 66 in Rancho Cucamonga at the site of the now defunct Thomas Vineyards Winery. According to California history, this winery dates back to 1839 when the Cucamonga Valley was the heart of California wine making. The site of the Winery is California historic Landmark No. 490. Forget the man cave, this would look great in a She Shack!

Hello Tru Waters! What a lovely capture! I was raised in Covina..not many miles from here.. In the golden days of the late 50’s.. This pic sure brought back cherished memories.. My first job out of high school, was up on top of Mount Baldy.. Behind the bar att the ski lodge up there! Serving Heinikens! My Italian father had a grape arbour.. But didn't do as well as this winery.. The first barrel turned to vinigar! Thanks for a link to my past.. Haven't been there since then.. Now we live in the south of France with an abundance of vineyards..to our delight.. In an area that looks like "old California"... L&F! Merci for the memories!
