Description
Large carousel horse on top of shipping containers at the Brewery Artist Lofts in the historic Lincoln Heights section of Los Angeles. This horse has been worn through time, the wire of its body exposed with pieces of metal and wood still hanging on. I love the beauty of the piece, the way it has weathered with time and still looks magical. The story of the horse is lost. There is a power box on the horse which makes me think it was electrified at one time.
The Brewery Artist Lofts are located on the site where the old Pabst Brewery, an electric power plant and an old warehouse once thrived. All the buildings on the property were adapted for use by the Brewery Artist Colony.

Beautiful, Tru! So glad you got such a great capture and that you shared the story. Too bad the original (i.e., sculptor) is lost in the mists of time - I'll bet it was magnificent when it was done, but it's certainly STILL magnificent! L/F, voted in the Gift of Art contest.
