Ornamental light fixture, it used to hang in the hallway of the Hotel Figueroa before the Hotel Fig's renovation and reopening in 2018. The Hotel Fig was one of the largest commercial buildings funded by women for women. Built by the YWCA and opened in 1926, the Fig as it was known, was a one of a kind establishment that was owned, managed and financed exclusively by women. However, the hotel was not a financial success for the YWCA and eventually had to be sold. Its new owners hired a male manager and opened the entire hotel to both male and female patrons.
I used selective color in one of the Moroccan-style light fixtures, bringing out the blue tone.
